The First Lady has made it known that her priority is getting a higher education, so The Clayton County Board of Education school board has voted to name a school after Michelle Obama. There is a school named after her in California, Illinois and the city of Atlanta has her and her husband, Barack Obama. This will be the second school in the state of Georgia that will name Michelle Obama in her honor at South Clayton Elementary school.
The members have voted to call the school Michelle Obama STEM Elementary School, CNN reports.
There were nine people, who were in the running of being named of the school, but only two were chosen to be voted on. Now we are playing the waiting game on the approval of Michelle Obama by naming the school after her in her honor. If she declines the offer, then there is another candidate that will be honored. The school is under construction and expected to be done and open by July of 2021 in Jonesboro, Georgia.
