This past weekend, Mary J. Blige, Pepsi and Live Nation Urban brought a star-studded line-up in entertainment during the inaugural Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit that is held in Atlanta, Georgia. Over the course of three days, the festival featured special guest appearances by Xscape, City Girls, Summer Walker, Ella Mai, Queen Naija, Supa Cent, Jermaine Dupri, Kandi Buress, Angie Martinez, Angela Yee, Emotional Oranges, Kiana Lede, Sevyn Streeter, Rasheeda Frost, Rubi Rose, Omeretta, Eboni Ward and more.

On Thursday, May 5, there was a Welcome reception at an Atlanta eatery, Rock Steady, as the Atlanta mayor and city council honored Mary and the festival proclaiming May 5, 2022 “Strength Of A Woman” in the city of Atlanta. On Friday, May 6, that there was a comedy show at Buckhead Theatre featuring Ms. Pat, Erica Duchess and Taneshia Rice at the Tabernacle, that is sponsored by Pandora, with show-stopping performances by Inayah, Kiana Lede, Omeretta The Great, Rubi Rose, Emotional Oranges and Sevyn Streeter.

Day Two is one of the biggest days! The summit was held at The Gathering Spot on Saturday, May 7 with Mary, Supa Cent, Angie Martinez and Tasha K. Smith by sharing their personal stories of triumphs and hardships and how to love to self, perserverance and friendship have been crucial in their journeys to success. Over the next several hours, attendees were able to hear from several speakers discussing beauty, tech, finances, entrepreneurship, health, wellness and more. The experience was live streamed globally on Amazon’s Twitch platform. As the day goes on, Saturday night was filled with fun with an amazing line-up of black, female r&b and rap performances by Omeretta The Great, Queen Naija, Baby Tate, City Girls, Xscape and legendary Chaka Khan. Mary closed out the show with a two-hour set performing hit after hit as she earned the moniker “Queen of R&B” and how she dominated the R&B genre for over two decades
