This past Saturday, Spotify’s House of Are & Be that has returned in New Orleans with its largest line up up-to-date. Their third annual celebration of black voices, Spotify hosted a full day of programming, ‘The Power of Audio Storytelling’ panel, an Emerging showcase, an industry brunch and variety of curated expenses. As it kicked off with brunch, it featured sounds of Mereba, SiR performing “Satisfaction” and “D’Evils.” The crowd was star studded with Issa Rae, KaMillion and Elsa Majimbo.
The day continued with The Power of Audio Storytelling that shares their personal experiences as black creators. The end of the night was an Emerging Artist Showcase that includes Ashanti, Jacquees, Lucky Daye, Kofi and Jacob Lattimore. Giveon kicked the night off by taking the stage performing his hit singles off of his new album followed by Phabo and rising artist Jade. Alex Isley closed the night with the standing ovation performing hits such as “Good & Plenty” and “Into Orbit.”
